This time, we’ve asked Mark – who is relatively new to the Active family – about his role as Business Development Manager at Active-PCB Solutions.

- What inspired you to work in the PCB/electronics industry (or – how did you end up working here?!)?
My love and passion for technology, and my natural curiosity on what makes things “tick”. It’s fascinating to know and understand how technology has influenced our everyday lives. - In fewer than 100 words, what does a typical workday at Active-PCB Solutions look like for you?
My day starts with reviewing/replying to emails, well actually a cup of coffee! Emails form a critical part of my daily function, I feel it’s important to respond to emails timeously. Next is LinkedIn, replying to DMs or simply commenting on an associate post or staying up to date with my connections is important for building rapport. Finally a large portion of my day is spent looking for new leads and qualifying these leads and eventually, potentially securing a NEW customer. - What do you enjoy most about working with the team at Active-PCB Solutions?
The team at Active are very supportive and always willing to help, every day bring new challenges and it’s comforting to know there is always someone to help! - Imagine it’s the end of a Friday workday – what does your ideal evening look like?
Relaxing in front of the telly with an action packed movie, chicken chow mein! - What’s a hobby or activity you’ve recently gotten into, or one which you would love to try?
I recently started playing padel, mostly social games with the family, I use to be a keen biker (Super Bikes), I may settle on a cruiser instead of a super bike next time around. - If you could wake up tomorrow being an expert at something or having a brand new skill, what would it be and why?
If I could wake up knowing how to play the guitar and how to sing… Music brings people closer, music is calming and soothing….well not if it’s heavy metal 😊 but you get my point! - What is the last series you binged on Netflix/Prime/etc (and would you recommend it?)
I enjoy watching war and nature documentaries on Netflix, oddly I hated history as a subject when I was at school but today they’re my most watched series/movies on Netflix - You have two weeks off and an unlimited budget; where would you visit?
I would love to explore Croatia & Greece and it’s on my bucket list to see the Northern Lights in winter! - What’s your go-to comfort food?
Doritos, more specifically ‘Chilli Heatwave’ – once I pop I cannot stop and I can easily eat an entire (large) packet all on my own, the proof thereof is in my waist 😊 - According to an advert I saw on LinkedIn, animals are excellent for engagement, so please show off your pet (if you have one)!
I am not much of a pet person anymore, I don’t like to get emotionally invested in something that’s so vulnerable, ‘here today gone tomorrow’ based on past experience! - The same advert told me that humour was also good for engagement. Can you tell us a joke?
Dad joke: close your eyes…… Imagine you are in a locked room, filled with your worst and most terrifying phobia, snakes, spiders, rats, roaches, keep imagining…feel you skin tingling………what do you do???
